Christmas loot

Well I had a good Christmas this year (like every year). My wife bought me a Toshiba wireless laptop! I think that was mostly so she could kick me out of our computer room and make it into a baby room, but hey that works for me. I got a leaf blower that blows at nearly 400km/h! I figured it will be good for blow drying my hair in the morning. I also got a wireless mouse, lots of screwdrivers and even a pooping moose that talks.

Even though the loot was good, the best part of course is sitting around with family and joking around with my brother and sister about old time stories while eating moms prune perogies and baking. There is also my favorite breakfast on Christmas day, pickled herring and gjetost on rye crisp crackers. Just in case you never heard of it, it is pickled fish and soft brown goats cheese on dry high fiber crackers. My parents do server bagels for the non-Swedish that have married into the family. My wife has had an adventure of odd foods marrying me, a Swedish/Ukrainian guy who loves to eat any thing other then prepackaged TV dinners.

Well Christmas does not end there for me. I have a week off with my wife. I time to relax and not think about anything…well…other than getting the baby room ready. I guess next year will be anything but a silent night for the two of us but according to everyone we talk to ‘it is worth it’. (kind of funny all the things people say, like they all have been conspiring to say the same thing on poor innocent young couples to con them into years of diaper changing and sleepless nights). So for now I will in joy my few days in peace and quit.

Hope you all had a great Christmas.

Ultrasound

Ok, just so you know I am a little slow with these things. On Dec. 4 we had our baby’s ultrasound done. Besides the stress of being held up in a hospital for 3 hours and being 2 hours late for work, everything went good. It was really exciting to see our little baby. It actually felt like there was a real person inside her tommy. we could see it move around and see it’s little heart beating away. I knew it was real but you don’t realize just how real it is until you see the little hands and face. It is kind of weard how we have to see things before we really believe that they are there.

Before we see we just know and we think we believe but with every little glimse more we see the more we believe. I suppose that is the way we are with God. The more He reveals to us the more real we believe He is. The funny part is that God does not become more real based on what we see or know. God is just as real before we see or know Him, it is just the way we perceive Him.

Well thats my little ted bit.
