Outdoors

Court House

This is what I see looking out my window from work,
it was the court house and I work in what was the jail.
It is quite the amazing view!

Blue Reflections

Sunset on a man-made lake in Alberta.
Beautiful lake, beautiful night.

Fishing in Jasper

We drove for nearly 10 hours that day,
I would have rather been on one of those fishing boats.

Hay, it’s a bale

We saw lots of this for two weeks.
4500 kilometer road trip across the prairies.

Sportspal

A day at the lake trying a friends canoe,
I just wish summer would last forever.

From Tree To Stump

The life cycle of a tree in one photo,
found on our hike to the top of Buse Lake Cliffs.

From The Top

The view from the top of the cliff,
during our hike at Buse Lake

Golden Fields

Buse Lake Protected Area.
A hike up to the cliffs.

The Bridge At Night

One night during a walk with a friend,
that is a rare thing for a father of two little girls
since my curfew is usually 7:00pm

Canucks Mermaid

I was in Vancouver a couple days ago and saw the the Canucks mermaid.

Swamped

A walk around Logan Lake.
Still cold and not much green.

Last Years Flower

Dried flowers from last year that hung on through the winter.

Spring Flowers

It has been a long time coming but I would say it is spring now.
Here are a couple of flowers from the horticultural gardens at the university.

The Shore At Sunnybrae

I went to a camp for a day at Sunnybrae.
It makes me want to go camping again.
Glad spring is on its way and the grass is turning green.

Rainy Day

Rainy morning from my hotel room.
Glad I live in a semi-desert, where I rarely see this!

Early Morning At Sea

Early morning view of the ships from my hotel room.
After 3 days they didn’t seem to move much.

Mysterious Visitor

A mysterious person crossing our path on a foggy day.

Walk Through The Fog

We had a couple of foggy days.
It isn’t something we get to often,
but when it happens I enjoy it.

Clock Tower

Leaving the parking lot at the university.
It was a long day at work,
and was time to go home.

Winter Fog

Winter is here and with it comes some unique opportunities.
Here is my city on a foggy late afternoon.
I stopped on the way home from work.

Little Island

During the summer this tree is a little island out on the river.
Because the river goes down in the fall I was able to get close on the beach.

Old Church

This is a old church built on the reserve,
I believe it is call St Joseph’s Church.
We took this photo on a heritage train ride.

River Mussels?

I really don’t think there are mussels in our river.
Someone must have dropped it here but
it was a fun prop for a photo along our river.

Almost Hoodoo

I went to take pictures of the hoodoos around our town.
There aren’t a lot but there are a lot of wanna-be hoodoos.
Where I went there were only small baby hints of hoodoos.
They did however provide a nice chance for some black and white photography.
