Court House
This is what I see looking out my window from work,
it was the court house and I work in what was the jail.
It is quite the amazing view!
Walk Through The Fog
We had a couple of foggy days.
It isn’t something we get to often,
but when it happens I enjoy it.
Old Church
This is a old church built on the reserve,
I believe it is call St Joseph’s Church.
We took this photo on a heritage train ride.
Fresh Fruit
I love walking through the farmers market.
Even if I have nothing to buy I like to see the people selling there fresh produce.
This shot was during closing, this seller was picking out the best and
handing a few of samples to people near by.
Pedal Power
I saw these bikes out while driving around downtown one day.
I came back to them over and over trying to get the right light and no people.
Finally I got my chance but I could not get the photo to turn out quit right with my only lens, a 50mm.
I think a wide angle could have done the trick but I don’t have one right now.
So some photo editing was done to help add to the photo a feeling of times long ago,
when there were only one speed pedal bikes.
I love these bikes because it reminds me of my first bike and learning to ride.
Let’s Go To Elko
Where’s Elko you ask?
Not sure, all I know is you get there by train.
Cars, Trucks And Proud Owners
Last Sunday I got stuck behind a parade of old cars and trucks. Not sure where they were going I turned off and went to the park to see what I could take photos of. At one of the entrances to the park I saw camera men were setup with a crowd of people behind. So I parked and went to their location since there was still lots of room and I figured they would pick a prime location.
Guess who shows up? The parade that I was following earlier. After photographing about 70 old vehicles pulling in, I went and wondered through the show. There were some awesome cars there but my favorite photo of was of this man, I assume the proud owner of the truck. Once he noticed me take this shot, he posed for another shot. I thanked him and continued on.
Fresh Roasted Coffee
There is a little coffee shop in town that roast there own coffee beans. They even sell it in some local grocery stores. I like the place because it is right downtown (our small downtown with a main street of only four or five blocks), everything in it is old fashion, and on Sunday afternoons I can read a book there while my wife and daughter take a nap.
This last Sunday I took the both of them there. My wife and I had a hot drink while my daughter ate a shortbread cookie. Here are three photos I took.
Chinese Cemetery
Here are couple of photos I took of a Chinese cemetery in town. Thousands of Chinese where brought here to build the railway back in the late 1800′s. A few of them settled here. This cemetery had great view of the city. most of that view is now blocked by houses.
Red Shoe
- Red Shoe
This first thing that comes to mind when I see this photo is my Sister Twyla. The red shoe has her name written all over it.
She is the person you see standing in the crowd with the crazy purse or shoes. Her and my wife should go in to business together selling shoes and purses.
